Privacy policy

This page explains what information DiJikoni collects when you use dijikoni.com, what we do with it, and the choices you have. We collect only what we need to take your order and get it to your door.

Effective 17 September 2026. DiJikoni handles personal data in line with the Kenya Data Protection Act, 2019.

What we collect

When you place an order or create an account, we ask for:

Your name and mobile number.
Your email address.
Your delivery address: county, town and street, estate or landmark.
A company name, if you want an invoice for a business order.

We also record what you ordered, what you paid and how, and the messages you send us about an order.

We do not see or store your card number, M-Pesa PIN or bank details. Payments are handled by DPO Pay, our payment processor, on their secure pages.

What we use it for

To process your order, take payment and deliver it to you.
To send you order updates by SMS and email: confirmation, dispatch and delivery.
To answer your questions and handle returns or replacements.
To keep records we are required to keep for tax and accounting.
To understand how the site is used, so we can improve it.

We do not sell your information, and we do not send marketing messages unless you have asked for them.

Who we share it with

We share only what each partner needs to do its job:

Our courier partners receive your name, mobile number and delivery address so they can deliver and, if needed, call you at the door.
DPO Pay processes your payment. Your payment details go directly to DPO and are covered by their privacy policy.
Our SMS and email providers deliver your order messages.
Our order and stock system, where your order is recorded and fulfilled.

We may also disclose information where the law requires it.

Cookies

dijikoni.com uses a small number of cookies so the site works: to remember what is in your cart, to keep you signed in to your account, and to keep the site fast. If we use analytics, it is to count visits and see which pages are used; it does not identify you by name.

You can clear or block cookies in your browser settings. If you block them, the cart and checkout may not work.

Your account

If you create an account, you can see your past orders and saved addresses under My account, and update or delete them at any time. You can ask us to close your account by emailing hello@dijikoni.com.

How long we keep it

We keep order records for as long as Kenyan tax and accounting rules require, typically seven years. Account details are kept until you ask us to close the account. Messages about a return are kept until the matter is resolved and for a reasonable period after.

Your rights

Under the Data Protection Act, 2019 you can ask us:

To tell you what personal data we hold about you.
To correct anything that is wrong.
To delete your data, where we are not required to keep it.
To stop using your data for a particular purpose.

Email hello@dijikoni.com and we will respond within 14 days. You also have the right to complain to the Office of the Data Protection Commissioner.

Keeping it safe

dijikoni.com is served over HTTPS, account passwords are stored encrypted, and access to order information is limited to the people who need it to serve you. No system is perfectly secure, so if you believe your account has been accessed without your permission, tell us straight away.

Changes to this policy

If we change how we handle your information, we will update this page and the date at the top. Significant changes will be announced on the site.
